Laurent Gerbaud received is Engineer degree and PhD in electrical engineering from “Grenoble INP – UGA Graduate schools of Engineering and Management” in 1988 and 1993, respectively.
Currently he is working as Professor in Electrical engineering at Grenoble-INP (Institut National Polytechnique de Grenoble) and practices his research at the G2Elab (Grenoble Electrical Engineering Laboratory), France. His main research interests deals with methods, methodologies, software tools and frameworks for the design, sizing and simulation of power electronics applications and electrical systems, specifically electrical machines and electrical drives. Specifically, his researches include design approaches, computer aided modeling, time and frequency simulations, and sizing methods by optimization. The main present applications of his work are on transportation: cars, trams, buses, trains and aircraft.
He is member of the IEEE Power Electronics Society, and also member of the International Steering Committee of OIPE since he was the conference chairman of OIPE 2004 which was held in 2004 at Grenoble, France.
